About The Cotton Stitch & Its Founder, Laila

I started sewing at the age of eight and by the time I turned twelve, I had modeled my own clothes in three fashion shows, two of which were Austin Fashion Week. From then on I loved all things fashion. A decade after my first time behind a sewing machine I had a vision for The Cotton Stitch Boutique.

When starting this boutique I faced steep mountains and sometimes sheer cliffs that made me question whether I could ever really do this. I thought, several times, about how much easier (and cheaper) it would be to just throw in the towel. However, I have been reminded, time and time again, that faith is all you need to keep going. So I jumped off the cliff, knowing that the Lord would guide me and provide for me. He placed a verse on my heart that has continued to be the theme verse as I embark on this journey.

"Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert." Isaiah 43:19

I believe that the Lord has given me this skill and this dream for a reason, and I believe that His plan is far greater than anything I could plan for myself. My vision for this boutique is to not only provide customers with modest, feminine, and graceful fashion, but to also provide a service, to connect women throughout the country and to share the Word of God to everyone.

Love,

Laila Riley
